At VNSNY, we understand the importance of delivering culturally sensitive care and serving the unique needs of all of our patients, and our staff reflects the diversity of New York City. We were the first home healthcare organization in New York to launch multi-cultural programs to better serve our diverse communities. Today, collectively our staff speak over 50 languages, so we do our best to provide a clinician who speaks your preferred language and understands your religious and cultural traditions.
Our ability to communicate with our patients and their doctors and family members helps everyone involved get the highest quality home healthcare services. We work closely with our community, hospital, and insurance partners to create specialized services by an interdisciplinary team that will allow you to remain safe and healthy at home.

In response to the demand for bilingual, bicultural services in Chinatown, VNSNY established the Chinatown Community Center through our community benefit fund in 1999. Our goals are to promote health awareness, to prevent disease, and to provide referrals for health and social services in the community. The Center conducts health and social service seminars as well as regular health screenings, and administers flu shots.
In collaboration with Chinese Community Social Service and Health Council (CCSSHC) and Chinatown Neighborhood Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (Chinatown NNORC), the Chinatown Community Center also organizes special events around major Asian holidays, including Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
