Ways to Give

Options for Donating

Many of VNSNY’s charitable care and community benefit programs and services are made possible in large part by contributions from people like you. Here are some options for how you can donate.

Outright Giving

General contributions help VNSNY continue its nearly 125-year mission to provide the best quality home- and community-based healthcare to all New Yorkers, regardless of circumstance.

Memorial or tribute gifts allow you to leave a lasting and meaningful legacy in honor of a loved one or a special VNSNY staff member or home health aide.

Estate Planning

A tax-wise planned gift to VNSNY brings specialized medical care into the homes of those with nowhere else to turn, and helps ensure that our outstanding care is available to support future generations.  Additionally, planned gifts may protect and increase your income, generate estate tax advantages, or provide tax benefits and real dividends now, while continuing to do good far into the future.

Your planned gift automatically grants you membership in VNSNY’s Lillian Wald Heritage Society. As a member, you will be invited to special events, will be listed in the Annual Report, will be noted for your legacy gift, and more.

At VNSNY, we make planning your legacy easy, and there are many ways to give.

Bequests:

Making a gift by bequest to VNSNY can be as simple as inserting a paragraph into your will.  Please call us at 212-609-1525 or email us at development@vnsny.org for example bequest language, and to help you direct your gift.

Life Income Gifts

Life income gifts are often mutually beneficial: They allow you to help fund VNSNY’s mission, while at the same time providing you with financial benefits such as tax savings or an income stream. Income-producing plans offered by VNSNY include: Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, and Charitable Lead Trusts.  Contact us to learn about current annuity rates, tax benefits, and the different types of annuities we offer.

Gifts of Retirement Assets and Life Insurance

You may help bring much needed home- and community-based care to the lives of your neighbors simply by naming VNSNY as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension, or other retirement plans.  Depending upon the gift, there may be immediate tax benefits, or savings to your estate.

You can also make a tax-free gift from your IRA to VNSNY.  Please call us at 212-609-1525 or email us at development@vnsny.org for more information about how to make a gift of retirement assets and/or life insurance.
