Chinatown Community Outreach

New York City’s Chinatown is home to thousands of older adults. Most of them don’t speak or read English. They may not know about programs that can help them stay safe, at home, as they grow older. VNSNY has a special presence in Chinatown to help these people find the health and social programs that are available to them.

Chinatown Community Center

Chinatown Community CenterVNSNY’s Chinatown Community Center is at 7 Mott Street. It holds many events to help people stay healthy and to connect them to the services they need. The Center also holds special holiday events. These programs are free, and may include:

  • Weekly support groups
  • Recreation and exercise classes
  • Health screenings
  • Flu shots
  • Workshops about social services
  • Advance directive planning

All events are listed on the VNSNY Community Collaborations Events Calendar. You do not need to live in Chinatown to attend an event or get help at the Center!
