VNSNY is pleased to offer a free program for people over the age of 65 who are feeling depressed. Called PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active Rewarding Lives), this evidence-based program consists of six sessions of in-home mental health services that are designed to address the symptoms of depression and improve the quality of a senior’s life.

Funded by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, VNSNY’s PEARLS program is staffed by experienced mental health counselors who speak a wide range of languages, including English, Spanish, and Chinese. They will work with the senior to identify the problem and then develop steps that will connect the senior to positive social and physical activities that will, in turn, improve his or her mental outlook and quality of life.
