Special fundraising events are held throughout the year to support the Visiting Nurse Service of New York’s charitable and community benefit programs so that compassionate care can be provided to the most vulnerable and underserved populations who need it most.
Annually, VNSNY hosts two major fundraising events, including the fall VNSNY Benefit Dinner and the spring Golf Classic. Both events are successful ways for VNSNY to build awareness of our mission and help generate contributions from philanthropic organizations and individuals.
The VNSNY 2021 Golf Classic Reboot took place throughout the month of July, with “Play on Your Own” Fundraising Foursomes at three exclusive clubs: Westchester Country Club (Rye, NY), Century Country Club (Purchase, NY) and Fiddler’s Elbow (Bedminster, NY). This socially-distanced event, a first for VNSNY, raised over $221,000 to benefit the VNSNY Veterans Programs and the VNSNY Coronavirus Response Fund.

The Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) 2021 Benefit, “Inspiring Hope”, will be celebrated on Thursday, November 11th, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. After a year of unprecedented circumstances, we are thrilled to invite you to this event and to raise funds for the VNSNY Charitable Care and Community Benefit Programs and the VNSNY Coronavirus Response Fund.
The 2021 Benefit will feature the presentation of the Lillian D. Wald Award to Adam S. Boehler, Founder and CEO of Rubicon Founders, and to Emily and John Rafferty. Emily is President Emerita of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and John is a Member and Former Chair of the Board of VNSNY. The award, named after the public health pioneer and founder of VNSNY, is presented each year in recognition to those who have made significant contributions to the health and welfare of others.

The Visiting Nurse Service of New York 2020 Golf Classic, re-scheduled for August 3rd, had to be canceled due to the ongoing pandemic.
The decision was not an easy one. As a leading health care organization in New York, VNSNY is committed to ensuring the safety of everyone we’re in contact with, including our staff, our patients, and our guests at VNSNY events. After much thought and consideration, and with the New York State restrictions and guidelines in place, it was decided we could not go ahead with the event in the manner that people are so accustomed to and look forward to with such enthusiasm. It was the responsible and prudent decision.
We did not take this decision lightly. Besides being a wonderful opportunity to bring together VNSNY’s friends and supporters, the 2020 VNSNY Golf Classic was to provide much-needed funds for our Coronavirus Response Fund as well as the VNSNY Veterans Programs. We hope you understand these ongoing needs, and we look forward to greeting you during better times at our 2021 outing.
The Visiting Nurse Service of New York 2019 Benefit Dinner was held on Thursday, November 14th at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. The evening, themed “We Care Across New York,” raised a record-breaking $1.6 million for VNSNY Charitable Care and Community Benefit Programs.
Nearly 640 guests attended the event, which featured the presentation of the Lillian D. Wald Award to Steven M. Durels, Executive Vice President & Director of Leasing and Real Property of SL Green Realty Corp. Susan Fales-Hill was the Master of Ceremonies and Inspire Hearts Fundraising led an on-site paddle raise amongst the attendees, which raised nearly $75,000 towards the $1.6 million.
Proceeds from the event support VNSNY’s community and charitable care programs, which each year provide direct care and specialized support services to thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers, children and families, making VNSNY one of the largest and most innovative providers of home- and community-based services in the New York metropolitan area and in the United States.

The VNSNY 2019 Golf Classic took place on Monday, May 20th, at the Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, NY. The event, our seventh-straight sell-out, raised nearly $285,000, a record amount, to benefit the VNSNY Hospice and Palliative Care’s Veterans Program. The summerlike weather made for a perfect day to play golf and raise funds for our selfless veterans and their families.
