VNSNY depends on the generosity of people from all walks of life to support our life-changing programs and services. Contributions help us fulfill our mission to provide home care and community services to all New Yorkers, regardless of their financial circumstances. When you donate to VNSNY, your gift helps to ensure that the familiar knock of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York will be heard at the door of a New York area family who needs us.
It’s easy to change the life of one of our vulnerable neighbors. To make a one-time or recurring donation, visit our secure and convenient website, or download our gift form. You can choose to direct your contribution to a specific program or area of need, and make a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one or a special VNSNY staff member. In addition, you can make a gift through your donor advised fund.
Check with your employer to see if they will match your donation to VNSNY through their matching gift program.
If you have a donor advised fund at Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, BNY Mellon, Morgan Stanley, or the many other financial and community-based donor advised fund sponsor organizations, you can recommend a grant supporting VNSNY. Click on one of the links below to be taken to the donor advised fund page for these respective organizations to recommend a grant to VNSNY.

At VNSNY, we make planning your legacy easy, and there are many ways to give.
Making a tax-wise gift to VNSNY, such as a bequest, annuity, trust, retirement plan, or life insurance, brings specialized medical care to those in desperate need, and ensures that our outstanding care is available to support future generations. Additionally, we can work with you to structure your gift to ensure lifelong income, generate estate tax advantages, and provide tax benefits for you now, while continuing to improve the lives of others far into the future.
Your legacy gift automatically grants you membership in VNSNY’s Lillian Wald Heritage Society. As a member, you will be invited to special events, recognized in reports and donor lists, and more. To join the Society, please inform us of your gift by filling out our Confidential Statement of Intent.
Making a gift by bequest to VNSNY can be as simple as inserting a paragraph into your will. See the sample language below, or call us at 1-212-609-1525 or email us at email@example.com to help you direct your bequest to a specific VNSNY program.
“I give, devise, and bequeath to the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Tax ID #13-3189926, 107 East 70th St, New York, NY 10021, the sum of $________________ (or _____________% of my residuary estate) to Visiting Nurse Service of New York, to be used in support of its general charitable purposes.”
Life income gifts allow you to help fund VNSNY’s mission while providing you with a lifelong income stream and tax advantages, including in many cases partially tax-free annuity payments. Income-producing plans offered by VNSNY include: Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, and Charitable Lead Trusts. You can see current annuity rates based on your age by visiting the American Council on Gift Annuities’ website.
Contact us to learn about the different types of annuities we offer, or for an illustration of the annuity payments and tax benefits a Charitable Gift Annuity could provide for you.
You can help bring much needed home- and community-based care to the lives of your neighbors simply by naming VNSNY as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension, or other retirement plan. Depending on the gift, there may be immediate tax benefits, or savings to your estate.
You can also make a tax-free gift from your IRA directly to VNSNY that may qualify as your Required Minimum Distribution. Please call us at 1-212-609-1525 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about how to make a gift of retirement assets and/or life insurance.
