Most of us would consider ourselves lucky to experience one great love in our lifetimes. But Jeanne Levan and Robert Ross are among the very fortunate who have gotten to experience two!
Jeanne and Robert met a few years ago. They each had lost a spouse to a serious illness, and as they got to know each other better, they also learned that hospice care helped in their spouses’ final illnesses.
By making a gift in your estate or retirement plan, you ensure that VNSNY’s mission will continue for generations to come.
Because both Jeanne and Robert know the comfort brought by specially trained hospice professionals, they want to ensure that—long after their own lifetimes—New Yorkers and their families will have access to compassionate, dignified care when facing end of life. They have included VNSNY in their estate plans, but they want to do more.
To encourage others to make wills to provide for the people they love and support the organizations that better our communities and improve our world, Jeanne and Robert created the Levan-Ross Bequest Challenge. They invite you to join.
Jeanne’s first donation to VNSNY came after a grief counseling session. She brought out her checkbook to pay, not knowing it would be free. Because she found it so beneficial she insisted on making a gift in gratitude.
Robert appreciates Jeanne’s generosity to VNSNY because of his own experience with the hospice care his late wife received. His goal in helping to fund the Levan-Ross Bequest Challenge is to encourage people to put their affairs in order. Having an effective estate plan can help prevent difficulties for the surviving spouse and children. It’s an important—and easy—way to care for the people and organizations you love.
Every bequest to VNSNY helps ensure VNSNY will be there for New Yorkers long into the future. But thanks to the Levan-Ross Bequest Challenge, you have a very special opportunity for your legacy gift to impact the lives of VNSNY patients now and in the future.
If your bequest is among the next 30 commitments VNSNY receives, Jeanne and Robert will donate $500 to VNSNY in your honor now, and your bequest will help provide care for generations to come.
When you give to VNSNY, your gift can:
A planned gift to general support or any charitable program will qualify for the Levan-Ross Bequest Challenge. However, most donors choose to leave an estate gift to VNSNY in support of our charitable mission, to allow for the most flexibility in delivering care to those in need. You don’t need to name VNSNY Hospice for your gift to qualify for the Levan-Ross Bequest Challenge.
