The Center for Home Care Policy & Research (CHCPR) was established in 1993 by VNSNY to advance the national knowledge base underpinning home- and community-based services.
It has become recognized as the pre-eminent research center for home care and is the only of its kind in the nation.
CHCPR draws its strength from its ability to both synthesize and enhance the programmatic, clinical, technical, and administrative resources of this rapidly evolving field. A broad network of collaborations with other healthcare researchers, schools of nursing and medicine, and practitioners across the US is central to the Center’s work, ensuring its timeliness, applicability, and usefulness to the home care community. The Research Center’s reputation for excellence has enabled it to attract major grants from government sources, such as the National Institute On Nursing Research, The National Institute on Aging, the Agency for Health Care Research & Quality, and from private philanthropies, such as The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Samuels Foundation, and The Weinberg Foundation.
