Our goal at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York is for you to see the same friendly face with each home visit. Your home health care nurse will perform the initial evaluation to determine your needs, or the needs of your loved one, work with your doctor to develop a Plan of Care, and coordinate the other care providers you may require. Your nurse will also take care of medical needs, and help you to manage any stress or lifestyle issues related to your diagnosis.

You can rest assured that all of our nurses are highly qualified and experienced. (In fact, our nurses have an average of 13 years of experience in home health care.) Every nurse is licensed and registered to work in New York State, and all of our nurses undergo extensive, on-going training that is specially designed to address home health care issues. Many of our nurses are bilingual or multilingual, and we always try our best to match you with a nurse who can explain your care in the language you speak most comfortably.

Plus, you’ll benefit from the latest technological resources available. Each VNSNY nurse carries a laptop computer equipped with special software that transmits information to and from your doctor and other members of your home care team, and allows access to proprietary databases about medications and treatments. Each computer has special security features, too, so you will never have to worry about privacy.
