Established in 1993 by the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, the Center for Home Care Policy & Research is the only one of its kind in the nation. Our staff includes a team of Ph.D.-level researchers trained in health services, aging, nursing and policy research, and a complement of master’s-level graduates in public health, social work, computer sciences, and related fields.
Members of the staff have held appointments at the Harvard University School of Public Health; the John F. Kennedy School of Government; the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research; the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health; Weill Medical College of Cornell University and Hofstra University. Articles written by staff members appear in peer-reviewed journals, and our staff members make regular presentations at national professional meetings and conferences.
VNSNY’s clinical staff makes more than two million patient visits every year, and data from each and every visit is recorded. The Center’s Outcomes Group tracks this information to generate reports that help clinicians improve and customize patient care.
