Paula Wilson, BSN, MPH

Paula Wilson joined VNSNY in September 2004 as a Public Health Nurse in the Adult Acute Division, and came to the Center for Home Care Policy and Research in December 2005. She is the Hypertension Clinical Coordinator for the Home-Based Intervention for African Americans Project, which is funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. Ms. Wilson educates and assists patients enrolled in the program to adhere to their medication and behavioral regimes and encourages self-management techniques.

Ms. Wilson has extensive hospital experience, including surgical, orthopedics, general medicine and trauma. She also does corporate wellness and health screenings, with an emphasis on extensive patient education.

Ms. Wilson graduated with a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter College.
