David Russell, Ph.D., Evaluation Scientist, joined the
Center for Home Care Policy and Research in 2009, and works with the
Senior Evaluation Scientist and other members of the research staff to
integrate evaluation methods into the service delivery model of home
care programs at VNSNY. Dr. Russell’s substantive areas of
expertise include medical sociology, gerontology, mental health, social
epidemiology, quantitative methods and data analysis. Prior to joining
the Center, Dr. Russell was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Institute for
Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research at Rutgers University.
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Russell conducted several studies on the
relationship between household integration and psychological distress
among older adults. Dr. Russell received his Ph.D. in sociology from
Florida State University in 2007.
