Shivani Chopra, MPH, Research Analyst, joined the Center for Home Care Policy and research in February of 2008. At the Center for Home Care Policy and Research, Ms Chopra works on Health Related Quality of Life: Elders in Long Term Care, a collaborative effort with University of Pennsylvania- School of Nursing. She is also involved with the Post Acute Care Payment Reform Demonstration, a project in conjunction with RTI International. Her responsibilities include coordinating primary data collection activities, conducting literature searches, and contributing to the preparation of research publications and reports.
Prior to joining VNSNY, Ms Chopra worked at Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. as Project Assistant. She was involved with survey operations on various studies such as Medicare Prescription Drug Demonstration, PACE and HCBS comparison study and Community Tracking Study. Ms Chopra is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Public Health, earning a MPH in Health systems and Policy. The focus of her Masters Fieldwork was on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Utilization of Preventive Health Care Services. Her BA in Cell Biology and Neuroscience is from Douglass College, Rutgers University. Her research on Spinal cord Injury culminated in a thesis about Potential Benefits of Nicotine on Spinal Cord Injury.
