At the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, we understand the issues people living in the Bronx face every day. We know that if you are ill or injured or elderly, it can be hard to travel from place to place, walk safely on crowded sidewalks, or even do the laundry. We know you live in the very real world of New York City and that is why we offer a wide range of services. From pediatrics to senior care, short-term interventions to long-term management, our skilled nurses, clinical professionals and home health aides have the medical expertise and compassion you need to live your best life possible.

 At VNSNY, we have a long tradition serving the residents of the Bronx, and we’re a part of the fabric of your community:

• Of our approximately 13,000 employees, more than 2,800 live in the Bronx.
• We served more than 22,000 patients in the Bronx in 2007.
• Our multi-lingual staff members are able to provide care to patients who don’t speak English comfortably—and that’s more than one-third of our patients in the Bronx.

In the Bronx, we offer post-hospital care, rehabilitation therapies, long term home health care, AIDS programs, hospice care, and help with all activities of daily living. Through our affiliate company, VNS CHOICE, we offer two health plans–a managed long-term care plan for nursing home eligible Medicaid patients and a Medicare Advantage health plan for residents who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.
