Our Care Teams

VNSNY Hospice and Palliative Care patients and their families receive services from a top-notch team of professionals who have training and expertise in managing the symptoms of advanced illness and enhancing quality of life. Our Care Teams are available around the clock and confer weekly on each patient’s care.

They include:

  • Full-time physicians who are board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • Nurses certified in Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Social workers
  • Dietitians, home health aides and therapists who specialize in complementary medicine
  • Palliative Care consultants
  • Interfaith spiritual care counselors
  • Staff members who can speak multiple languages and better understand cultural needs
  • Volunteers with diverse backgrounds who can provide services to patients and families, including bedside yoga, hand massage, haircuts and bereavement support.
