Family Support & Resources

VNSNY offers several programs to teach young parents the skills and resources they need to raise healthy, happy children. (Some programs have eligibility requirements for participation.)

  • The Bronx Fatherhood Program helps young men to accept the responsibility—and enjoy the rewards—of being as involved as possible in their children’s lives.
  • The Nurse-Family Partnership is available to low-income first-time mothers in the Bronx and Lower Manhattan from their first trimester of pregnancy to the child’s second birthday.
  • The Early Head Start Program and Early Steps Family Center, located in Rockaway, Queens, serve 75 pregnant and parenting teens, and their children up to age three. Services include childbirth education, a state-of-the-art childcare center, and the Father’s First Initiative.

Early Head Start Program

This innovative VNSNY program in the Rockaway community of Queens  emphasizes teen families and their children up to three years of age, though pregnant women up to age 25 are also accepted.
