VNSNY Free Flu Shots
The Visiting Nurse Service of New York supports vaccination in all the communities we serve. VNSNY, along with its subsidiary Partners in Care, has teamed up to provide free flu shots to people 50 years and over or with chronic illnesses throughout the five boroughs. VNSNY, through Partners in Care, supplies nurses to the NYC Departments of Health in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and the Bronx to give these free flu shots at senior centers, churches, and other locations in these boroughs. To find out where these locations are call 311 toll-free between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. and ask for the NYC Department of Health Flu Vaccination Information. VNSNY also supplies nurses to help vaccinate in Westchester County flu clinics. In addition, VNSNY is providing free flu shots at two centers in Nassau County - on November 15 at Greenwich Gardens in Hempstead, and on December 4 at St. Ignatius Church in Hicksville. Call VNSNY at 516-942-4527 for more information and to find out how to register beforehand.
Partners in Care also sends nurses to companies and businesses in NYC and Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, and Westchester Counties to give flu shots to employees. The businesses pay a fee which outweighs the cost of losing employee time to the flu. For more information or to arrange for this service, call 1-888-943-8435 or visit www.partnersincareny.org.
