VNSNY Benefit Gala To Raise Funds for Its Children and Services Programs

The Visiting Nurse Service of New York 2006 Benefit, “Investing in Children, Strengthening Families,” will be held on November 9, 2006 at The Waldorf = Astoria. The event will honor John E. Zuccotti, U.S. Chairman of Brookfield Properties, Senior Counsel of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and VNSNY Board Member, with the Lillian D. Wald Award. Dinner Co-Chairs for the benefit include Douglas D. Broadwater, Kenneth I. Chenault, Julie and Bob Daum, Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz, Stephen L. Green, Nina Henderson, Howard P. Milstein, Jeffrey M. Peek, Carl H. Pforzheimer III, Tara Stacom, and Mort Zuckerman, and the funds raised from this event will support VNSNY Children and Family Services. The black tie evening begins with a cocktail reception at 6:30 PM, followed by dinner and dancing at 7:30 PM. Established in 1893, Visiting Nurse Service of New York, the largest non-profit home health care organization in the nation, has more than a century of experience in serving the health care needs of New York City’s diverse population. Today, the agency’s expert and compassionate home and community-based health services reach more than 30,000 patients on any given day, ranging from newborn infants to men and women in their nineties and older. In 2005, VNSNY served over 115,000 patients and provided more than $23 million in charitable care services and community-based initiatives, including care for 6,000 uninsured and underinsured New Yorkers who had nowhere else to turn.
