Volunteers are the heart of our end-of-life program. They provide that extra level of care and comfort that makes all the difference to patients and families. Volunteering is uniquely challenging and rewarding work. To visit with patients, potential volunteers must attend a twelve-hour training. We offer trainings on weeknights and weekends to accommodate a variety of schedules.
A phone interview and pre-registration are required and help prospective volunteers understand the requirements for volunteering for our end-of-life care program. To get started, check out the training schedule and contact your borough's Volunteer Manager.
