Early Head Start & Family Programs

VNSNY offers several programs to teach young parents the skills and resources they need to raise healthy, happy children. (Some programs have eligibility requirements for participation.)

  • The Early Steps Family Center operates an Early Head Start Program located in Rockaway, Queens. The programs serves 75 children, 0-3 years of age, including pregnant and parenting teens, and their children. Services include parent and child development, and prenatal and postpartum classes. Doulas are also available. In addition, we offer an on-site GED program and the Father's First Initiative. Services are free of charge.
  • The Bronx Fatherhood Program helps young men to accept the responsibility—and enjoy the rewards—of being as involved as possible in their children’s lives.
  • The Nurse-Family Partnership is available to low-income first-time mothers in the Bronx and Lower Manhattan from their first trimester of pregnancy to the child’s second birthday.
