We are very proud of the investments we have made to provide you with systems and equipment that will help to make your professional experience at VNSNY the best it can be.

You’ll have access to the VNSNY Intranet, our online "gold mine" of information about VNSNY and its programs and initiatives, policies, procedures, and benefits. Our Intranet is also home to your Employee Self-Service account, where you can manage your personal information (such as updating your mailing address or emergency contacts), as well as information about your tenure at VNSNY. Our Human Resources department uses a world-class software application that allows you to input your job changes, work time, pay, and benefits online, if necessary, or they can be calculated and recorded automatically.   

The Intranet also gives you access to our learning management system, where you'll be able to browse our catalog of workshop and course offerings and enroll online. Many of these learning opportunities are available online, or they can be downloaded to your computer so you can work on them at your convenience.

If you’re a professional clinician, you'll be assigned a laptop computer to receive your case assignments, schedule patient visits, and enter notes using either a keyboard or a pen (which is why we sometimes refer to these computers as “pen tablets”). Our patient record is completely computerized and completely secure. Your pen tablet also allows you to order services and supplies for your patients. We’re extremely proud of our pen-tablet program — it's a big part of what made VNSNY a finalist in the "Business Evolution through Mobilizing Field Workers" category of Computerworld's Mobile & Wireless World 2008 "Best Practices in Mobile & Wireless" Awards Program. You’ll also receive a VNSNY cell phone to contact patients and colleagues without incurring out-of-pocket expenses or using your personal cell phone minutes.  

Finally, in the case of an emergency, VNSNY will notify you immediately using an advanced automated contact system that dials you automatically with an important message or leaves it for you on your voicemail.
