The Visiting Nurse Service of New York is the largest not-for-profit home health care organization in the country. There are other organizations with the words "visiting nurse" in their name, but each one operates separately from the other. There is only one Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Who are we?
We’re 15,300 dedicated employees. We’re 2,600 nurses, with an average of 13 years experience in the field. We’re 520 rehabilitation therapists (physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists), more than 8,710 home health aides, 575 social workers, and 130 other clinical professionals.
We speak more than 50 languages.
In 2010, VNSNY:
We’ve been part of the fabric of New York City since 1893—longer than the subway system. Before the Yankees. Almost as long as the Statue of Liberty.
We’re a vital part of New York’s public health infrastructure, delivering care to New Yorkers of all ages and all walks of life.
We’re the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. We’re here for you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
